The focus of the research in this group is made up of four different areas all under the umbrella of Aging, care of the elderly, palliative care and people living with long term diseases; the one area is on the elderly in particular the oldest old, their health, quality of life, health complaints as well as their health care consumption, informal care and social service and care quality. All of the senior researchers are involved in multi- and interdisciplinary research, mainly working in collaboration with researchers from social sciences, medicine, health economy and human sciences. |

Collaboration within the department as well as with other departments and faculties within the university and with research groups at other universities is extensive. One of the strengths of this research group is the international publication record, its recognition nationally, in the Nordic countries as well as internationally.
